The 72nd Palanca Awards are now accepting entries until May 31, 2024

The most prestigious literary award in the country is accepting entries again, after two years. They are accepting entries until May 31, 2024.

Open to Filipino authors of all ages, writers may turn in entries written in English (8 categories) or Filipino (9 categories), with short stories in Cebuano, Hiligaynon, and Ilokano. There is also a Kabataan Division (English Essay or Filipino Sanaysay).

Writers may submit the following:

Short Story / Maikling Kuwento, Short Story for Children / Maikling Kuwentong Pambata, Essay / Sanaysay, Poetry / Tula, Poetry Written for Children / Tula Para sa mga Bata, One-act plays / Dulang may Isang Yugto, Full-length plays / Dulang Ganap ang Haba, Novels / Nobela, and Dulang Pampelikula.

Unlike previous years when hard copies were de rigueur, entries for this year will only submitted online.

Entries from the Philippines require a notarized official entry form.

Cash prizes range from P4,000.00 (Kabataan Essay / Sanaysay) to P50,000.00 for Novels (Grand Prize).
