May 18: A Big Day for Local Graphic Novel/Comic Book Lovers

Mark your calendars, because this Saturday is Komiket Manila in Ayala Malls Manila Bay, plus Free Comic Book Day in Fully Booked branches in Luzon and Metro Manila!

Originally launched in 2002 on the first Saturday of May, Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is a global event embraced by Fully Booked.

It has been an annual tradition for die-hard fans to line up very early in the morning (with some lining up the evening before) outside the Bonifacio High Street branch, in the hopes of being the earliest to get two (2) free comic books (only one (1) free comic book for other Luzon/Metro Manila branches). A 20% discount will also apply on May 18 towards Graphic Novel and Manga, as well as Sci Fi / Fantasy books bought in-store. For online purchases, the discount will be 15 % on May 18 only.

Free comics will be distributed up to 12:00 noon only, so best come early!

Komiket Manila is the fifth event of Komiket, the local organization championing Filipino artists and comic book publishers. Fresh from Komiket South last April 20-21, they will next be in Ayala Malls the 30th for two weekends in June.

Komiket Manila begins May 17 and runs til the 19th in Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

Good thing today is payday! See you guys at these book fairs!
